A social home for race cars, and a trusted history that follows each car for life.
Privacy
Plain words first: this site is built to protect your car, not to expose it.
VIN — checked once, then thrown away
When you add a VIN, we check it once, make a locked fingerprint from it, then throw the VIN away. The VIN is never saved, never logged, never shown, and never put in a link or a photo name. Only the fingerprint and a 'Verified' badge are kept. If the same fingerprint shows up again, that car goes to 'Needs review' — a title check by a human — it is never auto-transferred.
If our secret key is stolen, or even suspected stolen, we burn it: the key is revoked and destroyed, old fingerprints are thrown away, and owners are asked to verify their cars again. Painful and annoying, but it protects your privacy.
License plates — warning + your responsibility + blur tool
We do NOT use AI to find plates. Before you post a photo, you must tick that there is NO readable license plate in it. No tick, no upload. If you tick this and a plate IS visible, that is on you — cover the plate before you upload, or use our simple blur tool: you draw a box over the plate yourself, the tool only blurs that box, in your browser, and your original photo is never uploaded by that tool.
Photos — location data stripped
Hidden location and camera data is stripped from photos before they are saved, and photos are saved under a random name, never your original filename.
Who sees what
Car detail pages are for members only. Sensitive history is private by default, and shareable only by a private link you choose. You pick who sees what.
No scraping, no insurance use
Site rules: no scraping, no insurance use of this data. We slow down bots and rate-limit requests. Honest limit: hiding a page from search engines alone will not stop a determined company — not displaying VINs and plates in the first place is the real protection, and insurers can also get VINs elsewhere.
Event history — verified only, with permission
Verified event history comes only with each driver's own permission, for example through MotorsportReg's real API. We do not scrape other drivers' results, we do not scrape contact information, and we never send unsolicited emails. A registration is not the same as proven attendance until that field is confirmed.
